(Written by Hugo López, 4th ESO)

Two months ago, some students from 3rd and 4th of ESO took the First Certificate Exam also known as FCE.

Previously, we had been preparing it with don Iker Sánchez, who is our English teacher, with some examples of how the exam could turn out to be. These examples included listenings, writings, readings and use of english.

The 8th of March we went to Eskibel to take the Speaking test by groups of 2 or 3 along with some of the girls. Each test lasted for 15 minutes. There were several parts that we had to take: contrasting our points of view with our colleagues, describing images…
We had to prove our excellent English level by pronouncing words correctly and making a good grammar use.

Later, the 16th of March we returned to Eskibel to take the Reading and Use of English, Writing and Listening tests.
Between each test there was a 20 minute break to chat, have a snack and relax a little before continuing with the exam. But remember, no mobile phones allowed!

Finally, after almost 4 hours, we finished the last test and we were able to return home and rest after such an exhausting (but exciting!) morning.

I personally think that we’ve done a great job. I’m looking forward to take the CAE exam next year.
